MK3 Build Section

More sections are to be added soon from the build guide. For now, this can be accessed from the website links.

There is Mk3 builders WhatsApp group, to gain access tag Keith Traynor in the Facebook Group MEV Exocet Owners Group UK and then he will arrange for access. This group isn't open just to stop advertisers etc. It's very friendly and super helpful

Here is a video showing a built Mk3 Exocet

Scott's MEV Exocet Mk3 build diary

Scott one of the builders is detailing his build MEV Exocet Mk3 build diary

Not included in the Exocet kit and not available from MEV:

  1. Bonnet catches
  2. Upper brackets for radiator
  3. Wiring tray
  4. ABS pump bracket (possible to reuse the existing maybe)
  5. Anything electrical (lighting kit is available though, but headlights questionable for suitability)
  6. Fuel filler
  7. Specific bolts to replace certain ones that need to be longer (brake caliper bolt and wheel bearing bolt to mount wheel spat brackets)
  8. Many other little brackets to mount various things
  9. All other standard size bolts to mount the various things (frame does have the main 10 bolts to mount it to subframes)

Gotcha or things that could be improved

  1. Gaz coilovers top mount spacer incorrect (potentially rectified)
  2. Front Wing Stay need wheel spacer
  3. Rear Wing Stage not high enough and need wheel spacer (potentially rectified)
  4. Driver side footwell tunnel panel too small
  5. Top of tunnel panel poor fitting, loose at front, tight at back
  6. Petrol tank does not fit race chassis
  7. Frame modification required for ITBs
  8. Side body panels are way too big and need a lot of cutting
  9. The Headlights can pass IVA but there are also know to fail IVA, Car Builder Solutions that sell the same headlights advise they are not IVA compliant
