How to remove the flywheel spigot bearing without a special tool

Other found the above tricky and purchased an Inner Bearing Puller like this

I followed the above but used an engine crane to lower the gearbox and did the job just about single handed, I drained the transmission fluid but you don't need to remove the gear stick and therefore probably don't need to drain the transmission fluid either
